GameSpot Hands On With The Old Republic

GameSpot has an exclusive pre-E3 hands on preview of The Old Republic where they got to play as 6 out of the 8 playable classes and gave their thoughts on each of them. The article also confirms the first playable alien race, Twi’lek. I suggest you head on over to GameSpot to check out the preview as it is quite lengthy and worth the read.

A new section has been added to the Holonet on the official site to supplement what we have seen in Threat of Peace, developer walkthroughs, and the cinematic “Deceived” trailer called Biographies.

Curious about some of the characters you’ve seen in Threat of Peace™, the Developer Walkthrough, or the “Deceived” cinematic trailer? Now you can find out all about them!

We are thrilled to introduce a new expansion to our HoloNet archives: Biographies! Now you can view profiles of several of the galaxy’s most notable figures. Each entry highlights someone you may meet, travel with, or fight alongside or against as you help determine the future of the galaxy in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™!

Just like the Classes, Planets, and Timelines sections, the Biographies archives will be expanded regularly, so check back often to make sure you get the latest updates!

Sean also added that we will be seeing some updates both at E3 this year and even before then.

Biographies is the foundation for something more… what exactly that is, I can’t tell you quite yet. All I can say at this time is stay tuned; E3 2010 isn’t that far away and we actually have some exciting (and new) updates for you before then.

Expect to see a lot of interesting news and features come E3 this year!

SW:TOR Confirmed for E3, Plus Fan Friday

This week’s update is a fan friday, spotlighting a few forum members’ artwork: Hazaz and Daennika, as well as a work of fan fiction by terminalpleasure. Forum member Danik Kreldin has also written a neat guide detailing the history of the Sith, called Short History of the Sith for Newbies. Check it out!

In this Fan Friday, we are highlighting various items from the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ community, dishing out exciting content from the Development Team, following up on GDC 2010, and confirming our presence at this year’s E3.

If you’re looking for more opportunities to voice your opinion, you’ll be interested in the new polls we posted up. Also, we added new avatars to the forums, so try them out!

Developer Corner

We are treated to a quick look at a work-in-progress of the Sith Inquisitor using his Force Lightning ability in the Developer Corner video this week. You can check that out here.

Also, we get to take a look at some customization options for human females when creating your character in The Old Republic. This is really the first time we have seen different options laid out side by side like this and it looks pretty impressive!

Lastly, Star Wars: The Old Republic has been confirmed to be at E3 this year. This was basically already known from a SWTOR Tweet, but the events page has been updated listing it. StarWarsMMO.net will be present at E3 this year so look forward to some great info and exclusives like we were able to deliver last year.
