Writer Rob Chestney shares experiences with BioWare
By Inyri on November 8th, 2008

Rob Chestney, one of BioWare’s senior writers working on The Old Republic and a former CNN producer, took some time out of his hectic schedule to release a blog you can find on the official Star Wars: The Old Republic website. In it he discusses his journey from a gamer to a BioWare employee and finally to his current post on the SW:TOR development team.
Rob Chestney started out just like one of us: he was an avid BioWare fan. He admits he “played through every single BioWare game from start to finish as soon as [he] could get [his] hands on it,” starting with a sudden and intense obsession with Baldur’s Gate, and like many of us believes that BioWare does not disappoint when it comes to their storytelling.
On several occasions we have been promised a full-length story in this new massively online role-playing game, similar to the stories provided in countless other successful BioWare titles like Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, and Neverwinter Nights. Chestney, who became a writer at BioWare when their Austin, Texas location opened, has assured fans that this MMO, which he is personally working on, will not disappoint either.
One theme that continually pops up in this blog entry is commitment to quality. Quality is something BioWare is known for and fans have been hard-pressed to find any example where that legendary storytelling has been lackluster. It seems the development team wants to keep assuring fans that yes, this game will live up to its predecessors, and it seems to be something senior writer Rob Chestney is very proud to be a part of.
