Summary

The most recognizable of the Sith classes, the Sith Warrior strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies and dominates through strength, power and intimidation. Channeling their emotions of fear and hatred Sith Warriors feed their lust for power by using their affinity to the dark side of the Force to vanquish all who stand in their way. Nobody is safe from these menaces of the battlefield, not even their own masters or apprentices. The Sith Warrior is the strong arm of the Emperor representing the strength and reach of the Sith Empire solely with their presence. Able to take on countless foes in battle or quickly cut lines through the enemies’ defenses the truly skilled Sith Warrior is unparalleled in toe-to-toe combat.

Lore

The Sith Warrior is personified by perhaps the most famous masked man in cinema history, Darth Vader. Intimidation and an aura of fear surrounded Vader, none dared oppose him. That is the role of the Sith Warrior a leader of oppression, commanding his troops with a tyrannical presence to conquer planets and star systems. Although Vader’s motivations of hate and rage at his own failings will surely differ from the Sith in The Old Republic, the Sith Warrior’s qualities of strength and power will surely carry over.

If Darth Vader was the face of the Sith in the Original Trilogy than Darth Malgus assumes that role in the era of The Old Republic. Malgus is a bit of an oddity among Sith, although his lust for power is on par for a Sith his willingness to take orders and his desires for power targeting unknown regions leaves him out of the sights of his brethren. Maybe most curious was his taking of a lover in Eleena Daru, a former slave whom he treated more as a wife.  However, during the sacking of Coruscant prior to the signing of the Treaty, Malgus recognized that she was his greatest weakness if she were to be used against him. In true Sith fashion he killed her of his own volition using those emotions to turn his greatest weakness into his greatest strength.

Class Specializations

Juggernaut
Sith Juggernauts are known for having powerful armor that feeds their strength and endurance in combat, increasing their longevity and ultimate the havoc they wreak on their foes. The Vengeance skill-tree allows the Juggernaut to channel their emotions into each strike of their lightsaber, feeding their power through hate to slice through their hapless foes. The Juggernaut uses his power with the Dark Side of the Force to increase his defenses, deflecting blaster fire and shrugging off damage through the Immortal skill-tree, the Juggernaut becomes a walking wall for his subordinates.

Marauder
The Sith Marauder foregoes any idea of defense and goes straight for the throats of his enemies slicing and dicing his way through swathes of minions and rapidly deliver strikes to cut down those that dare oppose him. The Annihilation skill-tree focuses on aggressive lightsaber strikes to deal massive stacking damage with a no-nonsense approach to killing with brutal efficiency. A Marauder that desires to kill in style makes use of the Carnage skill-tree which allows him the ability to leave his foes in pieces with acrobatic lightsaber slashes and strikes that leave nothing but a trail of death.

Both advanced classes share the Rage skill-tree, the Sith Warrior channels his power with the force into each of his strikes in addition to using the force as his weapon, choking and crushing any that stand in his way.

Is this the class for you?

If you’ve ever fantasized about filling the shoes of Darth Vader with your own feet then really there isn’t anything left to consider, this is your class. From a game-play standpoint you have two options really, you can either be a tank and absorb the majority of the damage for your buddies, or you can grab another lightsaber and try to cut through your opponent quickly. The Sith Warrior is a pure melee class though so if you don’t want to be face-to-face with your enemy at all times then you’ll want either a ranged or a hybrid class. If you still want a lightsaber, check out the Sith Inquisitor class as with their force abilities they can be ranged or melee. On the story side of things you can expect to be thrown directly at your enemies there is no beating around the bush for the Sith Warrior, only rampaging straight through.

Sith Warrior was surprisingly fun for me in beta, it being one of the classes I didn’t plan on playing at launch but now I may play it down the road. Great writeup.
