Summary

The Sith Inquisitor is known more for their attunement with the Dark side of the Force than for their skill with a lightsaber. However, underestimating the Inquisitor’s hand-to-hand combat abilities would undoubtedly prove to be a fatal mistake. Manipulation of the force and their surrounding is the true trademark of the Sith Inquisitor. This trait lends itself well to the politics and dark secrets required to lead the Sith Empire from behind-the-scenes. A threat both in the heat of combat and in a supporting role with the power of their sorcery, the Sith Inquisitor is a force to be reckoned with.

Lore

Perhaps most iconically, the Sith Inquistor is forever tied with the image of force lightning and a mastery of the Dark side of the Force. Often overlooked due to the stigma of evil surrounding the Sith sorcerers, they are capable of using their “dark arts” to heal and support their cohorts. The earliest known Sith sorcerer was Naga Sadow, a Dark Lord of the Sith, whose knowledge of the force allowed him the ability to participate in the dealings of the Sith long after his own death.

The Jedi Civil War is when the Sith Assassins emerged under the guidance of Darth Revan. Their role was to eliminate threats to Revan and they executed their duty with devastating success. Long after Revan, the Sith Inquisitors continued this training and practice, most notably under the lead of Darth Traya. The Sith Assassins continued to thin the Jedi numbers during the Jedi Purge under the leadership of Darth Traya, Nihilus and Sion. The Sith Assassins and Sorcerors of the Great Galactic War continue to strike from the shadows and manipulate from behind the scenes.

Class Specializations

Assassin

Striking from the shadows onto their unsuspecting foes, the Sith Assassin channels his mastery of the force into each strike and flourish of his double-bladed lightsaber. The Deception skill tree grants the Assassin bonuses to his stealth, allowing him to attack without breaking the cover of his stealth. Through the use of Darkness skills, a craftier assassin can grant bonuses to defense and offense of himself and his allies.

Sorcerer

Drawing his power from the forbidden depths of the Force, the Sith Sorcerer prefers to sap and drain the life and will of his enemies over close combat. Lightning, a skill that epitomizes the Sorcerer, allows him to ability to overwhelm and debilitate his enemies through the use of devastating barrages of electrical currents. On the other hand, the Corruption skill tree draws on the Sorcerers knowledge of the force to heal and protect his allies.

The Assassin and Sorcerer share a benefit from the Madness skill tree, focusing on using the Force to cripple and corrupt the enemy, draining them of the energy and will to continue fighting.

Is this the class for you?

The Sith Inquisitor’s primary role is in debuffing his foes and buffing his allies, making him the perfect choice for people that prefer to aid their friends instead of becoming a one man wreaking crew. That is not to say that the Inquisitor can’t hold his own in a fight; with the Sorcerer focusing on ranged Force powers for attacking and the Assassin having more melee options, you can still contribute to dealing damage to your group’s foes. Like the Imperial Agent, you can expect to take on more discrete missions and tasks than your Sith Warrior contemporaries, so if you like to see how the story of the galaxy unfolds from behind veils of the Force, the Inquisitor is the class for you.
