Summary

The most iconic of all the classes, the Jedi Knight is for many what defines the Star Wars universe: a solitary warrior for peace in a galaxy filled with turmoil. Across all eras, the Jedi Order has served the Galactic Republic as the guardians of peace, with the Jedi Knights being the majority of the Order. Masters of melee combat and armed with a lightsaber, Jedi Knights strive for peace through the guidance of the Force. Defenders of the diplomacy of the Galactic Republic, the Jedi Knights represent the first line of defense against all threats, whether that is the Sith or any other foes. Unparalleled idols of tranquility, there is no challenge that a Jedi Knight cannot rise to face; as much leaders of men as followers of the Force, nothing can shift a true Knight’s focus and determination.

Lore

All Jedi begin their humble journey to Knighthood as Padawan, generally starting at a young age training, both body and mind to accept and become one with the Force. Upon proving themselves ready to either their Master, the Jedi Council, or both, Padawan undergo the Jedi Trials, which generally culminates with the creation of their first lightsaber. A weapon of elegance and power, the lightsaber and its construction demonstrates that a Padawan is ready for the challenging and dutiful life of a Jedi Knight. From this point Jedi Knights generally choose between the path of a Guardian or a Sentinel. The Jedi Guardian is generally seen as the ultimate defender of peace across the galaxy, while the Jedi Sentinel is the aggressive sword of the Order preserving the law of the Republic through preemptive action.

In the era of the Old Republic, the Jedi Order is in a state of rebuilding and recovery. Devastated by the Great Galactic War and even the Jedi Civil War before it, the most recent blow to the Jedi Order came during the Sith sacking of Coruscant, during which many Jedi lost their lives, including Master Ven Zallow. Now the Jedi Order is looking to its new recruits for the next Jedi Knight that will rise to prominence and help resurrect the Order to its former glory, going so far as to begin training force-sensitive recruits at much older ages than usual in an effort to bolster the Jedi numbers in preparation for the moment when the Cold War and the Treaty of Coruscant is sure to break. The Jedi Order will be ready when the inevitable war begins anew and there will be new Jedi Knights ready to lead the charge against the Sith Empire.

Class Specializations

Guardian
True to their title, the Jedi Guardian stands as a wall between peace for the Galactic Republic and those that would threaten it, equipped with heavy armor for holding firm and unflinching in the face of overwhelming odds. The Vigilance skill-tree grants the Guardian a heightened awareness with the Force, allowing him to swiftly cut down foes with his iconic single lightsaber. A Jedi Guardian can become an impenetrable shield for his allies through the use of the Defense skill-tree, halting enemy attacks and stalling their advance.

Sentinel
Swift, vicious and deadly, the Jedi Sentinel is unparalleled in offensive melee combat making use of different lightsaber forms that flirt with the power of the Dark side by infusing power through emotions into their lightsaber strikes. A Sentinel specializing in the Watchman skill-tree is a master of the Juyo lightsaber form making, him deadlier as the fight drags on. The quick and devastating slashes of the Ataru lightsaber form are bolstered through the Combat skill-tree and allow the Sentinel to cut through droves of foes in the blink of an eye.

The Jedi Guardian and Jedi Sentinel can make use of the Focus skill-tree, which demonstrates a mastery of the Shii-Cho lightsaber form, combining their lightsaber strikes with a mastery of the Force to subdue their enemies.
