yea, thats exactly how I felt when reading the article. In all the MMO's I've played the real fun, power, equipment, friendships arrive after the Story has long ended, and I'm free roaming, running instances and PVP, getting better loots, not a level 5 neophyte :)

@Dave: Very good points Dave, especially about MMOs not being about replayability. They are about never really ending. I don't consider WoW to be the longest game I've played because there is never a point where it says, "you're done". Even if I beat the highest level content, there is always more to do. Hopefully that is how it will work in TOR.

You know whenever the talk turns to 'endgame' they always talk so heavily about how once you've completed your class, you can play another and its an entirely different story.

That's awesome, and I know they simply aren't at a place where they're willing to talk about how your 'completed' character can continue ... but ...

Sometimes it really sounds like they're missing some understandings of how many people play MMOs. This isn't a single player RPG. "replayability" isn't what MMOs are about ... they're about continuous character development.

People get attached and heavily identified with their characters. In the MMO world, they don't want simply shelve them and start over ... they want to press on with the character they love.

Now, I'm an alt-a-holic in MMOs, I certainly will roll every class in the game ... but all but one will be "alts" ... there's always going to be that one character that I cherish above all others ... and I dang well better be able to continue progressing somehow even after their story arc 'ends'.
