Many millennia ago the most brilliant scholars of the galaxy gathered on Tython to study the Force, a mythological energy field that they had encountered. Disagreements and controversy split the scholars and nearly destroyed the planet, but those that did escape became the first Jedi and founded the Jedi Order. Tython was long forgotten.
In the early parts of the Great War, modern Jedi rediscovered Tython and began to learn about the first of the Jedi.
When Coruscant was sacked and the Jedi Temple destroyed, the Jedi fled to Tython to rebuild their order to combat the Sith threat. Little did they know of Tython’s dark past and taint.
