The Case of the Missing Matrix Cube

There is a curious bug afflicting many players after today’s patch, where if they have acquired a Matrix Cube relic, the item vanishes from their character if it is currently equipped while loading a new area. BioWare has acknowledged the problem and is currently looking into a fix, which would most likely be applied via an emergency patch. Players would then get the item restored, without having to deal with the Protocol Droids at customer support.

Here is an update from BioWare:

I just wanted to give you an update regarding what happened and to let you know what our next steps are regarding the Matrix Cubes.

After last night’s patch, players reported that Matrix Cubes had disappeared from their inventories. This was an unintended consequence of a behind-the-scenes change to how mission items work. You may have also noticed some mission items missing if you were in the middle of certain missions as well.

The team has been working on a fix since this was first reported, and we hope to get it out to you as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we ask that you hold off on contacting Customer Service at this time. Our goal is to restore the items to you as part of a new patch, without needing any manual intervention from Customer Service.

We very much appreciate your patience today as we work to resolve this issue. Once we have more information regarding the timing of the patch, we’ll let you know.

Patch Notes: 1.2.3

A new patch, 1.2.3, has now been put into the wild. This is mostly a bug fix patch with some other minor updates. See the notes below for the full list of changes.

Site Downtime

Readers,

We experienced some downtime recently which you may have noticed if you visited the site in the last couple weeks. The good news is, the site is now on a more stable and easier to manage server. And after a few tweaks, it will be much faster too. While the downtime was not completely under our control, it came at an unfortunate time while we were running our contest and promo with Razer. More on that soon. For now, I want to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it caused and hope that you will stick with us. I can tell you that now that we’ve moved hosts and servers, it will not be happening again any time soon. And rest assured that the site will continue to be updated.

May the Force be with you,

Jeff Moeller

Alderaan News Holopics: Issue #15

The big news over the past week has been the full blown outbreak of the Rakghoul plague on the desert planet of Tatooine. In an attempt to minimize the spread of the virus officials from both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic deployed units of containment troops. However, as you will see in our reports it appears that these measures were not enough and that the plague has spread as far as the central fleets of both factions! Read more»
